Sneaker scarcity can be caused by a number of factors. Some are intentionally limited from the get-go, others are lost to time as years (and in some cases, decades) go by since their release. One such pair of Air Jordans that falls into the latter category is set to be reissued for the first time ever.
The Air Jordan 14 Retro Black/University Blue was originally released 19 years ago in January 2006 and hasn’t been available since. With the sneaker’s 20th anniversary approaching next year, new reports indicate that the black-and-Carolina-blue-colored version of Michael Jordan’s fourteenth signature shoe will receive a retro release.
Resembling a black-based version of the original Air Jordan 14 Low Columbia, the Black/University Blue iteration uses the model’s mid-cut silhouette and a slightly different shade of blue. Fitting for Jordan’s University of North Carolina alma mater, the Black/University Blue iteration also features dashes of Metallic Silver on its carbon fiber shank plate and branding.

In addition to this upcoming release, other Air Jordan 14s set to launch soon include the fan-favorite “Ferrari” look which takes the model’s sports car inspiration to new extremes. A number of spiked golf versions of the Air Jordan 14 are also lined up to release including the sneaker’s original “Last Shot” colorway.
University Blue-accented apparel and sneakers have been a perpetual post-pandemic trend. It’s most frequently featured on Air Jordans released by Nike, Inc., but other brands have also gotten in on the color’s popularity.
The Air Jordan 14 Retro Black/University Blue features a full colorway of Black/White/University Blue/Metallic Silver and a SKU of 487471-002. According to Sneaker Market RO and @zsneakerheadz, the style is set to be rereleased during spring 2026. Retail pricing has not yet been confirmed.
