Salman Khan honored his Jai Ho co-actor Mukul Dev, who passed away at 54 on Friday night. He paid tribute by posting an old photo from the set of their 2014 movie Jai Ho on his Instagram Stories, captioning it, “Miss you, my dear brother Mukul. Rest in peace.”

Mukul Dev’s final rites took place on May 24 at the Lodhi Crematorium located in the Nizamuddin area of Delhi.
Mukul’s most recent appearance was in the Hindi movie Anth The End. He was the younger sibling of actor Rahul Dev.
Mukul Dev was born in New Delhi into a Punjabi family, with ancestral ties to a village near Jalandhar. His father, Hari Dev, worked as an assistant commissioner of police and exposed him to Afghan culture. Mukul was proficient in Pashto and Persian.
Mukul Dev’s initial encounter with performing happened in Class 8, when he mimicked Michael Jackson in a dance show hosted by Doordarshan. This performance earned him his first paycheck. He was also a certified pilot, having completed his training at the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi.
Mukul started his acting journey on television in 1996 with the serial Mumkin, portraying the character Vijay Pandey. He went on to feature in Doordarshan’s comedy countdown show Ek Se Badh Kar Ek and also hosted the inaugural season of Fear Factor India.
He debuted in films with Dastak, portraying ACP Rohit Malhotra. This movie also marked the acting debut of former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen.
