Rashmika Mandanna, one of Indian cinema’s most sought-after stars, has been winning attention not just for her film work but also for her latest collaboration with Disney’s Lilo & Stitch. As part of the film’s promotional campaign in India, Rashmika recently introduced her fans to her new “BFF” — Stitch, the fuzzy blue alien who stars in the newly released live-action version of the animated classic.

A charming new set of images of Rashmika and Stitch together has been posted online by the actress, leaving fans both amused and curious. The actress also posted a caption that read, “That’s me and my new best friend Stitch. He’s cute, fluffy and one superrrr adddoooorable fellow.. He’s in cinemas from today! Why don’t you go and meet him too?” The promotional effort seems to have resonated, especially with younger audiences and families, as the film opened in cinemas across India on May 17.
Disney’s 2025 remake of Lilo & Stitch is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp and features newcomer Maia Kealoha as Lilo. The film blends live-action and animation and sees the return of original voice actor Chris Sanders as Stitch. Rashmika, who has had a great start to the year with Chhaava success and her first collab with Salman – Sikandar also hitting the theatres eight weeks ago, has helped the global franchise connect more deeply with Indian audiences. The movie has been released in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu to cater to the multilingual market.
