    Renowned Bollywood actor and model, Mukul Dev passed away on the night of May 23, 2025, in New Delhi. The actor, known for his work in films like Son of Sardaar, R… Rajkumar, and Jai Ho, had reportedly been unwell and was hospitalised for over a week before his health deteriorated. On May 24, 2025, his brother, actor Rahul Dev, issued a heartfelt statement confirming the news and sharing the details of the cremation.

    Hours after the news of Mukul Dev’s untimely passing made rounds, his bereaved elder brother, actor Rahul Dev, confirmed the same in an official statement. Taking to his Instagram, the actor finally announced the passing of his younger brother, Mukul Dev. The note also mentioned that the actor will be cremated at 5 p.m. today, on May 24, 2025,  at Delhi’s Dayanand Mukti Dham. The statement can be read as:

    “Our brother Mukul Dev passed away peacefully at New Delhi last night. He’s survived by his daughter Sia Dev. Missed by siblings Rashmi Kaushal, Rahul Dev and nephew Sidhant Dev. Cremation at 5 PM. Address: Dayanand Mukti Dham, H6OR & GF4, Nizamuddin West, Delhi-110013.”

    Bollywood mourns the death of Mukul Dev

    Mukul Dev passed away at only 54 years old, and he reportedly had not been keeping well for some time. While the cause of death hasn’t been disclosed, sources close to the family revealed that Mukul had been under medical care in the ICU for about 8 to 10 days.

    On the morning of May 24, 2025, actor Vindu Dara Singh, who shared screen space with Mukul Dev in Son of Sardaar, confirmed the heartbreaking news of his demise. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Vindu expressed his grief with a heartfelt message. The news has left the film fraternity and fans mourning the untimely loss of the versatile actor. His tweet can be read as:

    “Rest in peace, my brother #MukulDev! The time spent with you will always be cherished and #SonOfSardaar2 will be your swansong where you will spread joy and happiness to the viewers and make them fall down laughing!”

    Rahul Dev’s longtime partner, actress Mugdha Godse, also reposted the statement and requested privacy for the grieving family. As news of Mukul’s sudden demise spread, tributes flooded in from the film and television fraternity. Actor Manoj Bajpayee, who shared screen space with Mukul in Dastak, expressed his grief on X. He wrote:

    It’s impossible to put into words what I’m feeling. Mukul was a brother in spirit, an artist whose warmth and passion were unmatched. Gone too soon, too young. Praying for strength and healing for his family and everyone grieving this loss. Miss you meri jaan…until we meet again,  Om Shanti.

    Mukul Dev began his career with the television series, Mumkin in 1996. Over nearly three decades, Mukul worked across industries, starring in popular films such as Yamla Pagla Deewana, Son of Sardaar, R… Rajkumar, and Jai Ho. He was also seen in TV shows like Kasshish, Kumkum, and 21 Sarfarosh – Saragarhi 1897. Mukul also hosted the first season of Fear Factor India. His final screen appearance will be in Son of Sardaar 2, releasing later this year. He is survived by his daughter, Sia Dev.
