The former pair was then seen making appearances together, holding hands and being seen together at Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan’s wedding to Ness throwing surprise birthday parties for Preity; the former pair in 2008 together had also purchased the Kings XI Punjab team of the Indian Premier League. According to a report by India Today, it was in 2009 when Preity and Ness’s relationship hit choppy waters. Reportedly, he had slapped the actress at a party, which led to them breaking up. Neither of them addressed the issue in public nor spoke about the separation. After the alleged incident, both Ness and Preity shared a cordial bond and remained business associates. It was in 2013 when Preity addressed that despite her breakup, she was friends with Ness. She had said:
“Today, Ness and I are still partners in our IPL team… we are friends.”

It was in 2014 that the actress complained about Ness on the grounds of him molesting, abusing and threatening her. Preity in her complaint revealed they were just business associates after their relationship ended and were professionally communicating, as both were co-owners of the Kings XI Punjab team. She also shared that they were not on talking terms but had heated arguments. Preity alleged that Ness had abused her, used derogatory remarks which put her to shame in front of her colleagues, family and friends. She had warned him many times about his behaviour, but he did not stop in public. Preity had shared:
“I say that Ness Wadia has gone to the extent of threatening me with dire consequences and intimidating me by boasting of his political clout and connections. Mr Ness Wadia had intimidated me by saying that he could make me disappear as I was a nobody and only an actress and he’s a powerful person.”
Ness Wadia reportedly abused Preity Zinta in front of BCCI officials, and she complained against him
Preity had reportedly waited for a long time before she filed a complaint with the BCCI officials. She had to maintain her calm before she formally complained to BCCI, as her team had made it to the finals and she did not want their morale to be affected. A source close to the actress revealed that Ness abused Preity in front of the BCCI members. The source shared:
“Ness Wadia shockingly grabbed Preity’s hand and started to abuse her in front of everyone present, all of whom are witness to the incident. Ness not only grabbed her arm but also used extremely abusive language and is said to have been very derogatory and abusive in the past, in his interactions with others as well. The BCCI officials calmed her down after the episode.”
When Ness Wadia called Preity Zinta’s charges baseless
Preity’s ex-flame, Ness, had also released a statement via his publicist, Naveen Soni and had shared of being shocked by Preity’s complaints, which he called false as well as baseless. Preity then was left with no choice but to take to Facebook to reveal the horrendous experience she had faced at the Wankhede stadium in the hands of Ness.

Preity, in a long Facebook post, penned from her heart and shared that she may not be very powerful or wealthy. However, she had truth by her side and spoke on working hard, earning respect for herself and being self-made. She was upset when no one supported her in public and spoke about her character being sliced. A part of her statement read:
“Ironically what happened at Wankade is being diluted by every other fabricated story about my character except the truth of what happened. I’m sure the witnesses will speak the truth and I trust and believe that the police will do their job fairly and quickly.”
