Tata Motors has launched the 2025 Tata Altroz facelift at an introductory price of Rs 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom), marking the first significant update to its premium hatchback since its debut in January 2020. Bookings will open on June 2, 2025. The refreshed Altroz combines a new design, advanced technology, and safety features. The facelifted Altroz will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza and the Hyundai i20.

The updated Tata Altroz boasts a refreshed exterior, led by a striking new front face formed by a distinctive 8-lamp setup featuring a high-tech LED signature inspired by the 2018 45X concept. This is paired with an exquisitely designed 3D front grille. The redesigned split LED headlamps come integrated with sleek DRLs, while the segment-first flush door handles (on the front doors) not only enhance the car’s premium appeal but also contribute to its aerodynamic, slipper-like silhouette. Adding to practicality, the doors open a full 90 degrees, allowing for better ingress and egress.

At the rear, the Altroz now features Infinity-connected LED tail lamps and a reworked bumper, giving the hatchback a sharper and more upscale impression. A new set of alloy wheels, inspired by EV aesthetics, further modernise the profile. Altogether, these enhancements align the Altroz with Tata Motors’ latest design language.

Inside, the refreshed Altroz offers a more premium cabin experience, highlighted by a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, and an updated climate control interface. The Altroz also offers ventilated front seats and a 10.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster. The Altroz is available in five trims—Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished S, and Accomplished+ S—and comes in a choice of five vibrant colors: Dune Glow, Ember Glow, Pure Grey, Royal Blue, and Pristine White.

According to the company, the new Altroz features best-in-segment Executive Lounge seats, offering enhanced thigh support that is 8% better than its closest competitor (533mm in the Altroz vs 491mm in its rival). The Altroz also provides better headroom and hip room. At the front, it offers 990mm of headroom and 957mm at the rear. Hip room measures 1318mm at the front and 1281mm at the rear, which Tata claims surpasses its competitors. Additionally, the Altroz provides 345 litres of boot space, or 210 litres in the CNG variant.

The Altroz retains its versatile powertrain lineup with the addition of a new gearbox. There is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol producing 88bhp and 115Nm of peak torque, a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol generating 118bhp and 170Nm of peak torque, which comes in the Racer edition, a 1.5-litre diesel churning 89bhp, and 200Nm of torque, and can sprint from 0-100kmph in 12.8 seconds and a 1.2-litre CNG option with twin-cylinder technology. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual, a new 5-speed AMT and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCA), ensuring flexibility for varied driving preferences. As per Tata, the Altroz is the only vehicle in the segment to be available across manual, AMT and dual-clutch transmission.

The updated Tata Altroz comes packed with a host of features designed to enhance comfort, convenience, and technology. It offers 65W fast charging ports at both the front and rear, ensuring quick device charging for all passengers. A blind view monitor and a 360-degree camera system enhance safety and visibility, while an in-built air purifier ensures a cleaner cabin environment. Ambient lighting adds a sophisticated touch to the interior, and also features a voice-assisted electric sunroof. The Altroz supports four voice assistants, offering intuitive control over various functions. Additional highlights include the express cool function for rapid cabin cooling and Tata’s iRA connected car technology, which offers over 50 smart connected features to elevate the driving experience.

Safety continues to be a key highlight of the Altroz, which maintains its 5-star Global NCAP rating. All variants come equipped with essential safety features such as six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and ISOFIX mounts for child seats. The higher-end trims further enhance safety by offering a 360-degree HD surround view camera system, blind spot detection, and an emergency SOS calling feature.
