A video of a British man selling naariyal paani on the streets of London has delighted desi viewers to another level. And yes, naariyal paani. Not coconut water, because the Hindi phrase is what the British man has been using as his sales pitch.
The viral video, shared by the Instagram account ‘UB1UB2: Southall, West London’, features the text overlay: “Bro has got the accent on point.”
Standing beside his parked car, the man set up a simple stall with fresh coconuts laid out on a table. As people walked by, he called out, “Naariyal paani pee lo (Drink coconut water),” in a typical desi tone.
Then, he chopped the top off a coconut and handed it over to a waiting customer.
In a fun nod to regional language, he even referred to the coconut as daab – a term commonly used in Bengal.
