Sai Dhanshika’s debut in the film industry
Sai Dhanshika made her debut in the film industry as ‘Marina’ in the film Manathodu Mazhaikalam. The film was released in 2006 and starred Shaam and Nithya Das. This was also Arputhan’s final directorial venture. The same year she appeared in Maranthen Meimaranthen and Thirudi. However, it was her 2013 film, Paradesi, that gained her critical acclaim. Nonetheless, her next film, Ya Ya, once again failed to impress the audience, but she made a comeback with her next, Thiranthidu Seese. After this, Sai had a series of successes, including Kabali, Enga Amma Rani, Uru and Solo, among others.
Sai Dhanshika broke down on stage after T Rajendra insulted her
It was in 2017, when Sai Dhanshika worked with T Rajendra in Vizhithiru. The latter has a cameo in the film and was present at a press meet ahead of the film’s release. Things went south; when it was Sai’s turn to speak, she thanked a long list of people. However, she forgot to thank TR, which made him extremely angry. Irked by the actress, the veteran actor attacked Sai, when it was his turn to speak. He implied that Dhanshika missed out on his name because she was a part of a big-budget film. Sai tried to salvage the situation and immediately apologised.
However, T Rajendra was not in the mood to forgive or forget and kept lecturing Sai on her stage ethics. TR unleashed his fury on her with his misogynistic wordplay. He said, “She didn’t wear a sorry, and now she’s saying sorry.” This sexist statement was met with applause from everyone at the venue, including her co-stars. This brought Sai to tears, and while she didn’t get any support from her co-actors, Vishal took to his Facebook account and posted a long note calling TR out for his behaviour.
Sai Dhanshika accused of threatening her ex-employee’s family
A shocking controversy made headlines in 2024, when Sai Dhanshika was accused of threatening the family of a public relations professional, Priya, who had previously worked closely with her. Priya played a pivotal role in promoting Sai Dhanshika’s films and public image. However, in December 2024, she took to social media and made some serious accusations against the actress. According to reports, Priya had claimed that Sai, along with Keerthi Hanusha, the wife of music director Amresh, allegedly threatened her parents, who reside in a village near Tirupattur, Tamil Nadu.
The public relations professional, in her statement, claimed that the actress operated a network capable of intimidating individuals across Tamil Nadu. Scared by what Sai might do, Priya further appealed directly to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, MK Stalin and urged him to intervene. She asked the government official to take action against the actress. However, the actress denied the allegations and issued a statement stating that Priya was acting out of jealousy.
Sai Dhanshika announces marriage to Vishal
It was during the audio and trailer launch of Sai Dhanshika’s upcoming film, Yogi Da, that she announced that she would be hopping on the forever ride with Vishal. The actress shared that they will be tying the knot on August 29, 2025. The day will be even more special as it will mark Vishal’s 48th birthday. The duo has been close friends for 15 years. However, it is the first time they have opened up about their relationship. It is also worth noting that the actress is 12 years younger than Vishal.
