The Indian Army provided timely assistance to the residents of Chota Gaon Mohalla in Jammu and Kashmr’s Ibkot village after a local masjid was damaged due to shelling by Pakistan.
The recent cross-border shelling caused significant damage to the masjid’s roof, specifically the corrugated galvanized iron (CGI) sheets, as well as the solar plate system and the matting inside the prayer room.
The incident left the local community distressed, especially given the masjid’s role as a central place of worship and communal gathering.
The Army carried out repair work, fixing the roof, restoring the solar energy system, and replacing the damaged matting. The work allowed the masjid to resume its use for the local population.
The assistance was part of the Army’s efforts to support communities in border areas. Residents of Ibkot thanked the Army for the help. Community members acknowledged the Army’s role in providing security and support.
