Following the public outrage, the director, Uttam Maheshwari, issued a public apology. Taking to his Instagram Stories, the director publicly apologised and stated that he wanted to make the film just as a tribute to the brave soldiers. Now, Twinkle Khanna has come forward and addressed the buzz surrounding her husband, Akshay Kumar and actor, Vicky Kaushal’s fight over the film on ‘Operation Sindoor’.

Renowned author, Twinkle Khanna recently opened up about why she confronted her husband, Akshay, about the ongoing buzz surrounding the film on Operation Sindoor. In her column for The Times of India, Twinkle said that she had come across a bunch of tweets which pointed out the rumour that actor, Vicky Kaushal and Akshay are having a fight over the film on Operation Sindoor. Following the buzz, Twinkle confronted Akshay, who clarified the news to be fake. Twinkle wrote:
“I can test paneer with an iodine solution — but what is the litmus test for the truth? I come across a flurry of tweets and I call the man of the house and start arguing. ‘I just read that you are fighting with Vicky Kaushal over who gets to make a movie on Operation Sindoor.’ He sighs and says, ‘It’s fake news and my leg is on fire, so I will call you later.’ He really should devise better excuses if he just wants to hang up.”

Further in her column for The Times of India, Twinkle revealed when her husband returned after sustaining an injury, that’s when she believed that there was no truth in the rumour. The author also said how difficult it is to figure out the truth behind a piece of information. Addressing the ongoing buzz to be fake, Twinkle wrote:
“The man of the house arrives with a bandage on his calf. Apparently, his leg was truly on fire for a scene. Nowadays, it is so difficult to figure out what is true that I look at every piece of information suspiciously.”

Soon after facing backlash, director, Uttam Maheshwari issued a public apology. He shared that the project was planned just to pay tribute to the brave soldiers fighting in the war. Taking to his Instagram Stories, he wrote:
“My sincere apologies for recently announcing a film based on Operation Sindoor, inspired by the recent heroic efforts of our Indian Armed Forces. The intent was never to hurt or provoke anyone’s sentiments. I was moved by the courage, sacrifice, and strength of our soldiers and leadership, and simply wished to bring this powerful story to light. This project was born out of deep respect and love for our nation and not for fame and monetisation. However, I understand the timing and sensitivity may have caused discomfort or pain to some. For that, I deeply regret.”
For the unversed, the film was based on the recent India’s counter attack Operation Sindoor. The poster of Operation Sindoor, featured a female Indian army soldier, dressed in uniform. While the female soldier held a rifle in one hand, she applied sindoor on her forehead with her other hand. The poster also included firetanks, blasts and fighter jets.
