Divya Gokulnath is the co-founder of an education tech company, Byju’s, and is also the wife of Byju Raveendran. Byju is reportedly paying debts in the US and Indian courts. Now, Divya has lately put the allegation that a campaign has been done to target and put pressure on them to isolate her husband, people close to him, including his family members, co-workers and legal aid. In a recent podcast, Divya shared that there have been many people associated with Byju, including legal members and the senior management team, who were intimidated by unknown folks who have been visiting the houses of these executives.
Divya Gokulnath opens up on her husband, Byju and his team being threatened
During a recent interview with the news agency, ANI, Divya revealed that the strategy she understood was that everyone who is supporting him is trying to weaken. Everyone who is showing Byju support is being pulled, and Divya also shared that not many people are left in the company. She shared:
“Co-founding partners… just pull anybody and anyone. Even our lawyers have been threatened. They’ve been told that their license will be cancelled. I don’t want to take their name. This is the level to which we are being intimidated or they’re trying to intimidate us by sending people to our homes.”

Divya, without taking the names of anyone, shared that everyone has been threatened and also shared that they were told their license would be revoked. She said that this was the level to which someone was being intimidated, and also shared that they were being intimidated as people were sent to their homes. When Divya, further in the interview, was asked if she received any kind of threats, she shared:
“By people just walking into our management’s house. And I cannot believe. And that is why I am disappointed that we are giving so much importance.”
When Divya was further asked if the threat was only coming to people staying in India, she shared that those people were everywhere. She shared that goon-like people are being sent, however, she is not fearing being intimidated. Divya shared that she does not know what she and Byju are made up on or where they come from.
Byju Raveendran expresses concerns over unknown threats
Byju also, in the interview, addressed the issue of unknown people coming to the homes of the management people. The founder and CEO expressed concern and shared that his team was scared when an intruder randomly walked in, and nobody had any answer to the same. Byju further did mention that their biggest mistake was to opt for the US dollar 1.2 billion loan in 2021 despite having a lot of equity funding. He shared that he and his team never did the same out of desperation, but did make a mistake. Byju revealed that there are a few missions that bind people together and said that:
“I think indirectly that’s what they’re trying to say. They’re saying stand-off, or maybe create a lot of reputational damage so that you say, okay, you know what, I’ll stay out of this. It’s not going to happen because there is something, there is truth that binds all of us together. There is the final mission that binds all of us together.”
