Mumbai Indians’ premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah showcased his batting prowess during a recent net session ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) resumption. On Saturday, MI shared a video featuring Bumrah executing elegant strokes on both the off and leg sides, often sending the ball airborne and consistently finding the middle of the bat.
While Bumrah is renowned for his exploits with the ball – recently surpassing the legendary Lasith Malinga to become MI’s all-time leading wicket-taker – he has also made notable contributions with the bat.
One such memorable moment came in 2022, when Bumrah launched a blistering assault on Stuart Broad during the fifth Test between India and England at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Broad conceded 35 runs in that over, which remains the most expensive in Test cricket history even three years later.

Fans, in the meantime, were left in awe as Jasprit Bumrah showcased some stunning shots during a net session.
One fan, unable to contain his excitement, claimed Bumrah’s batting was good enough for the top order:
“We have found our new opener,” the fan wrote.
Another fan initially mistook Bumrah for Rohit Sharma, only realizing the truth upon spotting the bat:
“I thought it was ROHIT, then I noticed the BAT.”
Impressed by his skills, a third fan hailed Bumrah as an all-rounder:
“All-rounder Jassi bhai, we believe in you!”
MI to resume campaign on May 21
As far as MI are concerned, they will resume their campaign in the IPL 2025 on Wednesday, May 21 against Axar Patel’s Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Placed fourth in the table with 14 points and a net run rate of +1.156, MI are yet to book their berth in the playoffs. Bumrah has played a key role as he has taken 13 wickets from eight matches at an economy rate of 6.68.
