At age 58, Halle Berry isn’t holding back.

Within the last few weeks, the Oscar-winning actress has worn a barely-there gown to the Met Gala and hawked her lube on Instagram — while in bed with her boyfriend, Van Hunt, 55.

Those close to her say the “Catwoman” star is a real contradiction.

“Halle marches to the beat of her own drum,” said one source who has known her for decades.

“She has always been very defensive that she’s much more than her beauty … there’s a beauty and a sweetness there, then she can appear irrational.”

However, another source who knows her well told Page Six that Berry is simply extremely committed to being an “advocate” for women in menopause.

“She’s owning this age and stage of life beautifully,” insisted the source who knows her. “She’s a mother of two healthy and beautiful children and has been in a healthy relationship for years, and she’s expressing her joy openly.”

Indeed, the first black woman to win an Oscar, for “Monster’s Ball’ in 2002, seems to have finally found happiness after decades of tumultuous relationships.

In 1996, she told People that an unnamed former boyfriend once hit her so hard her eardrum was punctured.

She’s been married three times — to baseball player David Justice (from 1993-1997), musician Eric Benét (2001-2005) and actor Olivier Martinez (2013-2016).

She had ugly splits with both Martinez, with whom she shares 11-year-old son Maceo, and her other baby daddy, model Gabriel Aubry. The two were never married, but have a 17-year-old daughter, Nahla, together.

She has been dating musician Hunt since 2020, and their relationship has coincided with Berry taking a stand for middle-aged women.

“Van met Halle at a time when she was already owning her power in every way and he is just a supportive partner and they are in a beautiful and healthy relationship,” said the source who knows Berry well.

In February, on Drew Barrymore’s CBS talk show, she candidly discussed their sex life and the challenges that have come about in her new chapter.

“It got pretty rough for a minute,” she confided to Barrymore.

“Conversation is key,” Berry told the host. “Men have to also understand what’s going on. We, as women, have to have the courage to talk to our partners about it, and what I have found is that most men want to be supportive.”

The challenges inspired her to launch her own lubricant in December— and it was the very first product offered by her women’s wellness company, Respin. She’s also made an intimacy device that targets pelvic floor health.

This past Sunday, she posted a video with Hunt promoting her “Let’s Spin” lube from their bed in Cannes, France, where the star is serving on the jury for the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

“I showed y’all how my Mother’s Day started, and now I’m gonna tell you about — I’m not gonna show you — I’m gonna tell you about how my Mother’s Day is gonna end,” she said in the video. “Ain’t that right, baby?” she asked her boyfriend.

Outspoken Megyn Kelly was less than amused. “She looks very bizarre. Who celebrates Mother’s Day by talking about how to lube up their vag, with their boyfriend in bed, from Cannes, France? This is so bizarre,” Kelly said, adding that Berry looked “like she’s on drugs with that weird laughter.”

She theorized that the catalyst was when actress LisaRaye McCoy said Berry was “bad in bed” back in 2020.

“I think Halle Berry has truly been on a downward spiral,” Kelly said. “More and more weird sex kitten photos, nude photos, sex posts.”

Kelly also roasted Berry for her choice of attire at this year’s Met Gala, where she graced the red carpet with no underwear in a body-hugging LaQuan Smith gown with sheer panels that stretched from cleavage to crotch to the floor. A cropped tuxedo jacket and fishnet veil completed the look.

Online commenters were more approving of the bedroom video. “Miss Berry living her best life and we love that for you!!” wrote one.  Others joked about feeling like intruders, “ummmm are we interrupting something,” and “We in grown folks business,” while another added, “This is a family page.”

“Halle is an advocate!”, said the source who knows her.

Berry joined Oprah Winfrey for her menopause TV special in April, and last year she was extremely open while talking to former First Lady Jill Biden at A Day of Unreasonable Conversation in Los Angeles.

“[My] ego told me that I was going to skip [perimenopause],” she said, going on to describe her gynecologist had mistaken her symptoms for a severe case of herpes.

“That’s when I knew, ‘Oh my gosh, I’ve got to use my platform,” she said. “I have to use all of who I am, and I have to start making a change and a difference for other women.”

Yet, while Berry seems to be embracing being older and wiser, she’s not past some of the drama of her old relationships.

She is still in the midst of an ongoing battle with Martinez for sole custody of their son after alleging in court papers that the French actor “refuses to co-parent or communicate in a child-centered way.”

In November, a judge ruled in Berry’s favor that Martinez, 58, failed to communicate his lack of availability to participate in coparenting therapy.

She previously battled Aubry over custody of Nahla, claiming he had altered her hair, which she perceived as an attempt to mask her daughter’s African American heritage. They have since settled their differences.

Berry also infamously went through the heartache of Aubry and Martinez brawling outside her LA home on Thanksgiving 2012, leading to Aubry’s arrest.  A judge issued an emergency protective order, requiring Aubry to stay at least 100 yards away from Berry, Martinez, and Nahla until his court date. The battery charge was later dropped.

In 2023, Berry teamed up with Angelina Jolie to make the movie ‘Maude v Maude’ — but that seems to be on the back burner, sources told Page Six. It has yet to go into production.

In an interview with Variety, Berry said she and Jolie got off on a “rocky start” but then bonded.

“We’ve been talking a lot about divorces and exes,” she said.

For now, she just wrapped the movie “Crime 101” with Chris Hemsworth, Monica Barbaro, Barry Keoghan and Mark Ruffalo. It’s due out in February.

Despite her seemingly outrageous antics, the source who has known her for decades noted that Berry is a serious actress with undeniable talent.

“You can’t take her accolades away from her, nor should you want to.”
