    Bengaluru Police launches BCPChat mobile app for secure internal communication

    In order to ensure smooth intradepartmental functioning and hassle-free execution of duties facilitated by seamless communication, the Bengaluru Police has designed and developed the BCPChat mobile app. It is a dedicated messaging application tailored to support secure, efficient and structured communication within the department.

    Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda announced the launch of the BCPChat app.

    The app has been created with the aim of assisting the Bengaluru Police in their operations, covering all the aspects of their daily set of duties.

    KEY FEATURES OF BCPCHAT APP

    Structured Information Sharing

    BCPChat is optimised for daily police operations, allowing the seamless exchange of critical updates, including VIP locations and movements, media coverage (print, electronic, and social), daily crime reports, daily situation reports.

    Data Security

    All sensitive data is securely stored at the Karnataka State Data Center, ensuring strict privacy and robust data protection.

    Official Communication

    The platform facilitates the distribution of official documents such as government orders, circulars, and notices to all officers or designated personnel as required.

    Access Control and Intelligent Search

    Exclusively accessible to authorised police officers, BCPChat features an efficient search module, enabling instant access to historical documents and communications.

    “With data securely stored in the Karnataka State Data Centre and access restricted to authorised personnel, BCPChat ensures confidentiality,” the top cop said during a press conference in Bengaluru.

    One of its standout features is a broadcast function, which allows the department to send messages of general interest to all officers at once. This is intended to support faster and more efficient dissemination of updates and instructions.
