Rupali Ganguly is among the most talented actresses in the Hindi television industry and is known for playing the titular role in the show, Anupamaa. Her strong acting skills, impressive screen presence and powerful dialogue delivery have earned her a loyal fan following. But, despite being a significant force behind taking the show to unprecedented heights, Rupali has been blamed for being the reason for the exit of other cast members of the show.

From Paras Kalnawat, Sudhanshu Pandey, Madalsa Sharma and Gaurav Khanna to Raghav, whenever any significant actor left the show, reports suggested that they had an alleged tiff with Rupali. Recently, the show’s producer, Rajan Shahi broke his silence behind the authenticity of the news.

Rajan Shahi reveals why Rupali Ganguly is blamed for the exit of her co-stars

Anupamaa producer, Rajan Shahi recently sat down for an interview with Vickey Lalwani. During the conversation, he was asked a much-awaited question on why Rupali Ganguly was allegedly a constant reason behind the exit of her co-stars. In his response, Rajan shared that he feels the actress easily becomes an easy target for the media because she is popular and taking her name will create hype. In his words:

“Rupali is responsible for everything internationally and nationally, whether it is an economic or social issue or anything else. Everything. I consider Rupali responsible for everything. Even if there is a problem in Germany, Rupali is responsible. She is a very easy target. You take her name and ten journalists will write. It is a price one has to pay for fame.”

Rajan Shahi added that over the last few years, Rupali Ganguly has received massive success and fame. At the same time, she has developed into a brand and a household name, just like Smriti Irani became after the success of Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Consequently, anything related to her instantly goes viral. He mentioned that no one is doodh ka dhula in the industry, and there are differences. Sharing his views, Rajan said:

“Nobody is perfect. It takes two to clap. There are differences. You are working on a daily soap. Sometimes there is love, and sometimes there are differences. This is all part and parcel of this job.”

In the same conversation, Rajan shared that Rupali is capable of dealing with her issues, and he never gets into anything unless it affects the shoot. Consequently, he never asks the actress or anyone else to be friends outside the work. Talking about Paras Kalnawat, who played the role of ‘Samar’ on the show and hinted towards Rupali being difficult to work with after his controversial exit, Rajan mentioned that he is a kid. Since there are no lasting friends or enemies, he believes that Paras said those words in the heat of a moment. He said:

“A lot of water flows below the bridge. He is a kid.”
