A rubber band was found in the noodles of a Chinese food stall at a food court of a university in Pune on Friday. The incident was reported by the students of the Hindi department of Savitribai Phule Pune University.
The students had ordered noodles and fried rice from a Chinese food stall, ‘Route 93’, which is a part of the university’s food court. While eating, they found a rubber band mixed in the noodles.
Shiva Barole, a member of the university’s food quality committee, said neither the university administration nor the faculty members of the mess committee took responsibility or action regarding the issue.
He, however, confirmed that a formal complaint had been filed with the university administration.
The university’s pro-vice-chancellor told India Today TV that an investigation was underway and action will be taken against those found responsible.
The university food court includes several food outlets that are outsourced.
