Actor Patralekhaa, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Rajkummar Rao in the 2014 film ‘CityLights’, recently opened up about her role in Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Love Games’. She candidly admitted that she took on the role out of fear of missing out, as she was struggling to find work at the time.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Patralekhaa was asked whether she would agree for a bold role like that in Love Games again. She responded saying, “No, I wouldn’t do it again. You know, that Patralekhaa from 10 years ago was a very different, much younger girl. For her, it was very important to keep working. She was basically, perhaps I was, dealing with some kind of anxiety issues, like ‘I need work’. I didn’t realise it back then, but I acted out of desperation.”

The 35-year-old continued to explain, “The Patralekhaa I am now wouldn’t do that. And let me be clear—there’s nothing wrong with the film itself. They made what was written in the script. But could I do justice to it? No. Was I the right person for that film? No. That was on me. I should have thought about it and not taken it out of fear – fear of losing a project. Because the truth is, I didn’t have work. So I honestly blame myself for that decision.”

In the 2016 erotic thriller ‘Love Games’, Patralekhaa starred alongside Gaurav Arora and Tara Alisha Berry in lead roles. Co-produced by the Bhatt brothers and Bhushan Kumar, the film drew negative reviews from viewers and critics alike and eventually tanked at the box office.

Patralekhaa’s last screen presence was in the film ‘Phule’, with Pratik Gandhi. The film, directed by Anant Mahadevan, is based on the lives of Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule. Up next, she will be seen in ‘Suryast’, also starring Lara Dutta.
