Filmmaker Karan Johar has shared his thoughts on actor Babil Khan’s emotional video that went viral earlier this month. In an interview with Galatta Plus, Karan said he felt very bad after watching the video. “I felt as bad as people did as a parent when I saw Babil’s meltdown. I felt terrible because I also have a son and a daughter,” Karan said.
Karan Johar REACTS to Babil Khan’s viral breakdown video: “I felt terrible because I also have a son and a daughter”
For those who missed the incident, here’s what happened.
On May 4, a video of Babil Khan, son of late actor Irrfan Khan, surfaced on Reddit and quickly went viral. In the video, Babil was seen crying and expressing his frustration about feeling lonely in the film industry.
In the video, he mentioned names of several actors including Shanaya Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Arjun Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav, and even singer Arijit Singh. Babil was heard saying, “Bollywood is so f****d. Bollywood is so, so rude.”
The video left fans concerned and curious about Babil’s relationship with these celebrities. Soon after the video gained attention, Babil’s team and family released a statement to clear the air. They said the video was “widely misinterpreted.” The statement read: “Over the past few years, Babil Khan has earned immense love and appreciation for his work, as well as for his openness about his mental health journey. Like anyone else, Babil is allowed to have difficult days – and this was one of them. We want to reassure all his well-wishers that he is safe and will be feeling better soon.”
Babil Khan made his acting debut with the film Qala and has since been praised for his performances and honesty about mental health. He was last seen in Logout, a Zee5 original film.
