There’s one celebrity-loved trend Sydney Sweeney won’t co-sign.
In a new interview with InStyle, the “Euphoria” star revealed that she won’t be slipping into a pair of “super, super” flat shoes in the near future, even saying she “hates” the silhouette.
“I like when my sneakers have got a little bit of platform on them,” the actress, 27, told the publication. “I’ve seen a lot of really flat shoes lately, and I haven’t liked that.”
She’s right: Flats have been the go-to in Hollywood this year.
This season, ballet sneakers — sometimes dubbed “sneakerinas” — are taking the celebrity world by storm, adopted by the likes of Bella Hadid and Amelia Gray Hamlin, who have both been spotted in pairs from Vivaia.
The polarizing mesh ballet flat trend has also garnered a loyal fanbase, including Jennifer Lawrence, Lily Collins and Kourtney Kardashian.
When it comes to Sweeney’s personal style, the Hollywood darling prefers to keep it casual and refers to herself as a “jeans and T-shirt kind of girl.”
She added, “What I’m doing for the day or where I’m at—that dictates my style choices. My different closets in different places really fit the vibe of where I am in the world.”
And though the A-lister likely has access to just about any designer denim out there, she swears by a wallet-friendly brand.
“I am obsessed with American Eagle jeans right now,” Sweeney explained. “I have never worn something more comfortable.”
American Eagle’s denim first got on her radar after she saw her mom rocking a pair. “I was like, ‘What are those? Those look so good.’ American Eagle? Like, no way. So I went and got some American Eagle jeans.”
Now that she’s “completely converted to American Eagle,” Sweeney said she fears she may never go back.
Meanwhile, it seems she’s isn’t jumping aboard the skinny jean trend anytime soon, either.
“I definitely like jeans a little looser,” Sweeney explained. “It depends on the top, but either low rise or mid-waist. But I don’t like anything tight.”
