Lala Kent revealed she has an abnormality in her eye that is pre-cancerous after breaking down in tears over her health struggles earlier this week.
“So I got a text with the doctor that I went and saw last night at 10:30 p.m. I’m so grateful,” the reality star, 34, said in a video posted to her Instagram Story Wednesday night.
“He said, ‘The specialist can see you tomorrow at 9 a.m.’ So I was there at 9 a.m., she looked at it, she said that it is pre-cancer and she said, ‘I want to start you on chemotherapy drops.’”
The “Vanderpump” rules alum admitted that the news sounded “terrifying” and she “obviously” cried when she found out about her condition.
Kent shared that her doctor wants her to start treatment with “chemo drops” for three months and see how she progresses.
“At that point in time, God willing, it kills all the cancerous cells,” she said. “If it doesn’t, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it and talk about surgery. So there’s the update.”
The Bravolebrity broke down in tears while giving fans an update about her “eye situation” in a video shared to social media earlier this week, according to Bravo.
She explained that an eye doctor initially told her that she either had an inflamed pinguecula or a reaction due to allergies.
“For some reason, that just didn’t feel right because the [eye] drops [the doctor] gave me weren’t working,” Kent said.
When her symptoms wouldn’t go away, she went to a “very highly recommended” doctor.
“[The doctor] looked at it and said, ‘I do not think it is [an inflamed pinguecula] at all. I actually want to biopsy it because, to me, it looks like it could be pre-cancer,’” Kent shared. “So, they’re trying to expedite surgery to remove it and see what it actually is.”
Kent explained that she first became concerned when she noticed “discoloration” on her sclera, the white part of her eye, two months ago.
But her worries heightened when the sport started to look “like a blister.”
Kent shared that doctors are going to numb her eye and remove the mass for testing.
“They’ll either put a stitch or they do a skin graft from the back of the eyelid … I don’t know,” she said. “I’m kind of freaking out a little.”
The reality star has been struggling to remain positive and said she has been “obsessing” over her medical condition as she awaits the results.
“It’s just wild,” Kent said in a video later that evening. “I’ll have friends who come to me when they’re going through a health situation, and I’m like, ‘It’s going to be fine. You’ll be good. We’re gonna figure it out. We’ll cross bridges when we get to them.’”
She continued, “Then, when you’re placed in this situation, all you can do is just sit here and stress and think about every possible horrendous situation, and all of the advice that you give to people completely goes out the window. So, I’m trying to stay positive.”
