A 78-year-old Sikh man has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a minor on three separate occasions earlier this month in Brampton, Canada.
According to a statement from Peel Regional Police, Harmohinder Singh was taken into custody on May 8 by the department’s Special Victims Unit.
Investigators allege that Singh approached a girl under the age of 12 and sexually assaulted her multiple times at a park in Brampton, PTI reported.
He was charged with three counts of sexual assault of a female under 17 and three counts of sexual interference.
Singh remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
“Investigators believe there may be additional victims and witnesses,” it said, urging anyone with information to contact authorities.
