‘Gabby’s Dollhouse Live!’ Musical Is Coming to the U.S. Ahead of First Film: Here’s When Tickets Go On Sale

Before Gabby and her fun feline gang take over theaters this fall, Gabby’s Dollhouse will take the stage with a new live show in the U.S.

Presented by Walmart, Gabby’s Dollhouse Live! kicks off in Long Beach, Calif. on Sept. 19 and will make stops in over 75 cities across North America, including San Francisco, San Diego, San Antonio, Tampa, Boston, Cleveland, Nashville, Atlanta, Louisville, Omaha, Denver, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Portland and more. Tickets will be available at Ticketmaster and are expected to range from $40 to $122; presales begin on Wednesday, May 14, at 10 a.m. local time for select dates, while the general public on-sale starts Friday, May 16, at 10 a.m. local time.

The show runs approximately 75 minutes, with a 15-minute break between two 30-minute acts. VIP packages will be offered and will include access to the pre-show, a VIP goodie set, exclusive themed snacks and refreshments and a costumed character meet-and-greet with photos.

The live musical will feature an original story with Gabby as she “unboxes a special acorn that needs the magical touch of a rainbow to grow. But when CatRat causes a color cat-astrophe and breaks the rainbow, Gabby and the Gabby Cats must find the colors again to set things right,” per the official synopsis. The stage show will feature hit songs from DreamWorks Animation’s popular preschool series, including “Sprinkle Party,” “Music in You,” “Hey Gabby” and “You Can’t Spell Meow Without Me.” (The live show will not feature actors from the TV series.)

Laila Lockhart Kraner will reprise her role as Gabby and Kristen Wiig stars as a villainous cat lady in Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie, which debuts in theaters on Sept. 26. Per the logline, the film follows the tween as she goes on a road trip with her Grandma Gigi to the urban wonderland of Cat Francisco. But when Gabby’s dollhouse, her most prized possession, ends up in the hands of an eccentric cat lady named Vera, Gabby sets off on an adventure through the real world to get the Gabby Cats back together and save the dollhouse before it’s too late.

Now in its 11th season and streaming on Netflix, Gabby’s Dollhouse is among the top 10 most-watched TV shows on Netflix in 57 countries. Blue’s Clues veterans Tracie Paige Johnson and Jennifer Twomey are behind the hit DreamWorks Animation series, which stars Kraner as a 12-year-old who, after unboxing items, uses the power of her magical cat ears to shrink down into an animated version of herself to go on miniature adventures with her kitty pals, called the Gabby Cats. THR previously partnered with the DreamWorks Animation title for its inaugural Kids Power event in 2023.

In March, THR exclusively revealed new toys tied to Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie, including an interactive edition of Gabby’s charming house featuring LCD “eyes” and games, a Pandy Paws plush that interacts with a cat ears headband, illustrated books and sticker activity books from Scholastic and more.

The live-action/CGI series recently launched its first game, “Gabby’s Dollhouse A-Meow-Zing Moves,” on Nex Playground‘s active play gaming system. Gabby’s Dollhouse already boasts an expansive range of products, including chapter and activity books, Lego sets, kids backpacks, mini figurine sets and more available at Amazon, Target, Walmart and other retailers.
