Sakshi Tanwar became a single mother at the age of 45
In October 2018, the 45-year-old star Sakshi Tanwar embraced motherhood for the first time when she adopted a nine-month-old baby girl and named her Dityaa. Sakshi gave a pleasant surprise to all her fans when she announced the ‘good news’, and since then, she couldn’t stop sharing her experiences with her little one and how being a mother is the ‘most beautiful feeling ever’.
Sakshi is still single at the age of 52 and living the best phase of her life with her daughter, Dityaa. In an interaction with News18 Showsha, Sakshi opened up for the first time, about her challenges as a working professional as well as a single parent. She revealed struggling to strike the perfect balance between being a good mother as well as running her career at the same time. Speaking about balancing her work and motherhood, Sakshi said:
“I think all of us are trying to achieve that balance, which is the biggest challenge women face because of society’s expectations and our own dreams and aspirations. In the middle of all that is your child – who wants your attention and has his own set of expectations from you. As a parent, you are constantly trying to achieve that balance.”
Sakshi Tanwar faced huge controversy for her on-screen kiss with Ram Kapoor
Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar, who played the characters ‘Ram’ and ‘Priya’ in the popular TV show Bade Acche Lagte Hain, shared an on-screen kiss. This became an iconic moment as it marked the first-ever on-screen kiss in Indian television history. The scene, which was aired in 2012, created a lot of chaos, and the makers faced a lot of backlash. Even Sakshi and Ram had to face the brunt, and it also hurt the show’s rating.
Sakshi Tanwar revealed the challenges of playing a ‘Rani’ in ‘The Royals’
Netflix’s show, The Royals, talks about the story of a royal family and their ultra-rich and opulent culture. However, for Sakshi, who has only played grounded characters, the transformation was quite challenging both mentally and physically. During a press meeting of the show, she spoke about it and said:
“So when I was doing my first scene, I was very conscious because I didn’t know how the Royals think because for an actor it’s very important that what you’re going to say, what you’re going to do is at the back of your mind and I had no clue, I had no reference point, nothing and I started faking it.”
