Vishal is one of the most well-known actors in the Tamil film industry. Besides being an actor, Vishal owns a production company, named Vishal Film Factory. On May 11, 2025, the actor was attending a beauty pageant event in Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, where he collapsed on stage. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by his team. Later on May 12, 2025, Vishal’s team released a statement on his health update.
Vishal faced a health scare during a beauty contest in Tamil Nadu
According to multiple reports, Tamil actor, Vishal was attending the Miss Koovagam Transgender Beauty Contest in Tamil Nadu’s Villupuram as a chief guest. As per a Times Now report, during the event, the actor lost consciousness on stage and then collapsed. The report further stated that former Tamil Nadu minister K. Ponmudy was also present when the incident took place. The former Tamil Nadu minister ensured that the Tamil star was given immediate health care in a nearby hospital.
Vishal’s team released his health update statement
On May 12, 2025, Vishal’s current health condition came out to the public after his team released a statement. The statement issued by the team stated that the cause behind Vishal’s fainting was that he had skipped his morning meal and had just drunk juice prior to the event. The team also ensured that the actor had a thorough check-up at the nearby hospital and that he is currently doing well. The briefing of Vishal’s health update statement can be read as:
“We would like to clarify recent reports regarding Actor Vishal’s health. During his appearance as Chief Guest at an event organized by the transgender community, #Vishal experienced a brief episode of fatigue and fainted. It was later confirmed that he had skipped his regular meal that afternoon, having only consumed juice, which likely led to a drop in energy levels. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors conducted a thorough check-up. Fortunately, there is no cause for concern. The medical team has confirmed that Vishal is in good health and has advised him to maintain regular meal timings going forward. He is currently doing well and recovering with rest.”
Vishal faced a similar health scare before
Earlier, in January 2025, Vishal was diagnosed with dengue. Despite having a high fever, the actor went to his film’s promotion. The promotional event was for his film, Madha Gaja Raja. The actor seemed visibly unwell and looked fatigued. A video surfaced on the internet, where Vishal was seen holding a mic with trembling hands. There were also rumours about Vishal’s health condition, for which he would be unable to work for a good number of months. Later, Vishal issued a statement to address the rumours surrounding his health. The statement can be read as:
“There were false rumours claiming I wouldn’t be able to work for three or six months, but none of it is true.”
