The Shri Siddhivinayak Temple management committee in Mumbai has imposed a ban on coconuts, flowers, garlands, sweets and other offerings brought by devotees in response to heightened security concerns following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir,
Intelligence inputs suggest that a potential threat to religious sites across the country, including the Siddhivinayak Temple. Following this, security agencies have alerted temple authorities. Consequently, the temple trust has rolled out enhanced security protocols.
The restrictions came into effect on Sunday, May 11, 2025. However, the temple will allow durva grass and jasmine flowers as exceptions.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with the temporary restrictions to ensure the safety of devotees and temple staff.
Additionally, temple officials consulted representatives of the flower vendors’ association operating near the temple. The vendors have assured full support.
