After India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire on Saturday evening, the intervening night of Sunday and Monday remained largely peaceful across Jammu and Kashmir and other areas along the International Border, the Army said. No incidents of shelling and firing were reported, marking the first calm night in 19 days.
The night of May 11 marked a significant shift, bringing the first complete lull in ceasefire violations since the Pahalgam attack on April 22. From April 23 to May 6, incidents of small arms fire were reported across multiple sectors along the Line of Control, escalating to heavy artillery shelling and aerial attacks between May 7 and 11.
