The second part of the Delhi Assembly’s budget session, scheduled to begin on Tuesday, has been cancelled, the Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretariat said in a bulletin.

The session was expected to see the tabling and passage of the Delhi School Education Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees Bill, 2025. The bill aimed to regulate fees charged by private schools in the national capital.

“The government has decided to defer the session. New dates will be announced later on,” an official said to the news agency PTI.

The first part of the budget session began on March 24. During that sitting, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who also holds the finance portfolio, presented her maiden budget.

Gupta unveiled the 2025–26 budget with an outlay of Rs 1 lakh crore, reflecting a 31.5 per cent increase from the previous financial year.
