While this week has been all about the zoot suit and sleek tailoring a la Met Gala 2025, Holmes has leaned into the suit as a canvas for summery prints. And with each passing season comes change; and for Holmes, that’s a thrilling new hair transformation.

The actor isn’t known for drastic hair changes—unlike peers who have joined team bob and pixie of late—and the last time we saw her strike out with a daring new haircut was probably in 2019, when she had a sleek chin-length bob cut. The Katie Holmes school of beauty is devoted to the loose yet sophisticated blowout or the nonchalant yet refined chignon. But this week, she surprised us with a new hairstyle.

Attending an event for the release of Poker Face in New York City, florally suited and booted Holmes showed off a more voluminous—and maybe slightly lighter in color, if eyes and IG filters don’t deceive—hair look. Her hair reaches down to her waist in beachy waves. And along with her brown fringed bag, it’s a look that’s positively Boho.
