Fox has already picked up several of its original shows for the fall 2025-2026 season — and recently announced its summer 2025 programming slate — but it’s also saying goodbye to a couple of its scripted programs.

Renewed Fox Shows
Fox gave a whopping four more seasons to American Dad (which returns to the network after moving to TBS), Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, and The Simpsons. Also renewed by the network are its freshman dramas Doc and Murder in a Small Town, along with its younger animated comedies Krapopolis and Universal Basic Guys.
Canceled Fox Shows
Fox’s 9-1-1 spinoff 9-1-1: Lone Star concluded with its Season 5 finale in February. The network also canceled its freshman drama Rescue HI-Surf.
Fox Shows That Haven’t Been Canceled or Renewed Yet
Still to be announced are the fates of the following Fox shows: Accused, Alert: Missing Persons Unit, Animal Control, The Cleaning Lady, Going Dutch, The Great North, and Grimsburg.
New Fox Shows
Fox is getting into the medical show game again after the success of Doc. This time, the network has recruited Josh Charles to headline a one-hour comedy series called Best Medicine, an adaptation of the U.K.’s Doc Martin, according to Deadline. He’ll star as the “peculiar and brilliant” title character Dr. Martin Best, and the show comes from Liz Tuccillo. Dr. Best is said to leave his career in Boston to practice in an East Coast fishing village where his lack of bedside manner skills might make him a pariah in the small town, despite his treatment talents.
Meanwhile, it’s still possible that the network’s long-awaited reboot of the Baywatch series has been expected for some time, could get a fall debut (especially since its other lifeguard drama Rescue: HI-Surf isn’t coming back).
