Shah Rukh Khan talked about why he won’t take up Hollywood films
While SRK’s Met Gala look got mixed reactions, people came together and collectively reacted strongly to the Met Gala interviewers who failed to recognise the superstar and asked, “Who are you?” Amid this fiasco, an old video clip of King Khan has resurfaced on social media. In the throwback video, SRK was asked when he would be working in Hollywood. Following the question, Shah Rukh humbly revealed he doesn’t want to work in Hollywood. The superstar shared that his English is not that good. Addressing the same, SRK said:
“My English is not good. If they give me a role of a dumb person who doesn’t speak, maybe. But with all, I mean I’m not trying to be modest but I think, I’m 42 years old, I’m a little brown, I don’t have any special USP as an actor. I don’t have any speciality as an actor. I don’t know Kung Fu, I don’t dance the Latin salsa, I’m not tall enough.”
Shah Rukh Khan shared that he would continue acting in Indian films only
Going further in the interview session in the video, King Khan shared that he doesn’t consider himself so talented to make space in Hollywood. The superstar further mentioned that he would continue working in Indian films and has the ambition to take that Indian film to the global space. Addressing the same, SRK said:
“I think anyone whose my age in the western world, I’ve seen some of the films of, recent films in Europe, I’ve seen a lot of films of the, what you call the dream factory. I think there is no space for me, there is no place for me because I don’t think I am that talented. So I would like to continue doing work in India and hopefully take Indian cinema to the world. That’s the ambition I have.”

For the unversed, Shah Rukh made his debut appearance at the Met Gala 2025, wearing Sabyasachi’s floor-length elongated coat made of Tasmanian superfine wool. He dressed up in a deep V-neck shirt underneath the long black coat and paired it up with tailored superfine wool trousers. King Khan carried Sabysachi’s custom-made dandy cane crafted in 18k gold. The superstar accentuated his look with a custom stack of talismanic chains and an oversized ‘K’ pendant. He also wore multiple rings and a luxury watch.
