3 Doors Down’s Brad Arnold diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer

Brad Arnold, the longtime lead singer of rock band 3 Doors Down, has revealed he is battling a severe form of kidney cancer. In a video posted on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Arnold confirmed he has been diagnosed with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma — a type of kidney cancer that has metastasized to his lungs.

Despite the seriousness of his condition, the 45-year-old remained calm and composed. “That’s not real good,” he admitted, before adding, “I have no fear, and I sincerely am not afraid of it at all.”

    Tour Cancelled Amid Health Crisis

Due to his diagnosis, 3 Doors Down has officially canceled their tour, which was scheduled to begin on May 15 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Tour dates and related content have been removed from the band’s official website and replaced with Arnold’s emotional video message to fans.

As reported by CNN, the artist requested ongoing support from fans, stating, “Lift me in prayer every chance you get.” In typical humour, he referred to the band’s 2008 song, adding, “Maybe I should go listen to ‘It’s Not My Time.'”

Fans and fellow musicians have responded with messages of support. Creed lead vocalist Scott Stapp wrote, “If anyone has the FAITH and STRENGTH to endure this battle, it’s YOU, brother. We are praying for you right now, believing without a doubt in your complete healing!”

Formed in the mid-1990s, 3 Doors Down rose to prominence with hits like “Kryptonite,” which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as fan favorites “Here Without You” and “When I’m Gone.” Arnold has been the band’s frontman since its inception.
