Hina Khan is one of the most loved television actresses. She recently expressed her outrage over a sexual assault and murder case in Nishat. For the unversed, Nishat is a small town in Kashmir which has recently made headlines due to a tragic rape and murder crime. Hina Khan took to her Instagram handle and shared her dismay with people trying to sugarcoat what happened.
Hina Khan bashes people blaming alcohol for the crime in Nishat
Hina Khan took to her Instagram handle on May 6, 2025, and shared a series of stories expressing her outrage against those trying to justify what happened in Nishat with alcohol consumption, religion, community, geography, or attire. The actress condemned the individuals who committed the atrocious crime irrespective of their community.
In the same post, Hina Khan asked people to stop blaming alcohol for what happened in Nishat. She shared that alcohol can cause many things, but it won’t make a good man a rapist. She added that people need to stop hiding behind alcohol as good men can and will handle their alcohol. She further stated:
“Good men can handle alcohol just as they handle superior physical power compared to a woman; they use it to protect women… It’s high time we call out what’s happened without mincing words just because it’s done by a Kashmiri Muslim and blame alcohol for your so-called agenda.”
In her second post, Hina further called out Kashmiris. She shared that people in Kashmir have consumed alcohol and enjoyed it as well, and while people tweet about the alcohol ban in the state, in her opinion, it should be a personal choice. She added that whether one wants to consume alcohol or not, one should not use the influence of alcohol as an escape from the liability of committing such inhuman crimes. She stated:
“Let the Victims at least be the victims. Don’t hog on to their victimhood to justify your motivations and ambitions. Please stop this hypocrisy..it’s the MINDSET not the the ALCOHOL..I am not advocating consumption of alcohol..but I don’t appreciate people straight up blaming alcohol alone for this gruesome act..”
Hina Khan’s request to all Muslims
In her third and final post, Hina Khan shared a humble request with her fellow Muslim men. She shared that there are faceless trolls in every community, but right now, the other communities are genuinely upset and hurt by what happened in Pahalgam. She recalled how loved ones were shot down in front of them after being asked about their faith. She added that while the country is in a state of war, they need to come together and stop reacting to trolls and be humans first. She was quoted as saying:
“We are almost in a state of war.. so can we stop replying or reacting ONCE to these trollers and let the other community be and grieve.. can we coexist for heaven’s sake.. let’s take the first step..let’s be HUMANS first I am not asking anyone to apologise, it’s a personal choice… I did it coz I felt it.. but if you can’t say anything good or positive, then at least STFU and sit down..”
