After serving as Met Gala co-chair uptown, A$AP Rocky brought the party downtown to Jean’s. The Rapper hosted his afterparty at the popular restaurant and club in collaboration with Ray-Ban and Cash App, where guests included Sabrina Carpenter, Jenna Ortega, and Maluma. The event featured a space of A$AP Rocky’s “own design,” imagined through his creative agency AWGE. Rocky presented his first fashion collection, under the agency’s American Sabotage brand, last summer in Paris.

This year’s gala celebrated the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” exhibition, which explores dandyism across time and geographies. The exhibition features looks by over forty contemporary Black designers, including Grace Wales Bonner, Ozwald Boateng, Telfar, Dapper Dan, Jeffrey Banks, Luar, Willy Chavarria, Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, Fear of God, Off-White’s Ib Kamara, and others. Louis Vuitton is the show’s lead sponsor, where Virgil Abloh served as creative director of men’s collections and was succeeded by Pharrell Williams. “Superfine” opens to the public on Saturday and runs through Oct. 26.

Other Met Gala cochairs included Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour.
