The young members of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency have come on the radar as federal employees and politicians have raised questions about their qualifications to look into the spending of the departments and suggest probable cuts. A 25-year-old staff resigned after his racist posts surfaced while a 19-year-old made headlines for his online name ‘Big Balls’. Now a Boston University employee Jared May has posted a call for the six employees to be murdered. Republican handles shared May’s post and asked Elon Musk to look into the aid the university gets. “Noted,” Elon Musk replied. “He has committed a crime,” Musk wrote in another post.
“The men carrying out Musk’s coup are Akash Bobba, Edward Coristine, Luke Farritor, Gautier Cole Killian, Gavin Kliger and Ethan Shaotran. Wanted for treason dead or alive,” Jared May’s post read. According to reports, it was originally posted on social media site Bluesky.
Jared May was listed online as an assistant media technician at Boston University which apparently removed May’s staff page. The university did not issue any statement on the post but a university representative told Boston.com that it was his personal view and not the varsity’s. “We are aware of a post made by an employee on his personal social media account…. We do not comment on personnel matters. The views expressed do not reflect the values of Questrom School of Business,” the representative said.
What is the controversy over DOGE staff?
After the DOGE got access to the federal payments system and then got into a brawl with the security staff of the USAID which is likely to be shut down, Democrats and even some Republicans expressed concern over DOGE crossing the line. “An unelected shadow government is conducting a hostile takeover of the federal government,” a post on Democratic New York Sen. Chuck Schumer’s X account said. “DOGE is not a real government agency. DOGE has no authority to make spending decisions. DOGE has no authority to shut programs down or to ignore federal law. DOGE’s conduct cannot be allowed to stand. Congress must take action to restore the rule of law.”
