Ro Khanna announced he would like to work with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy for DOGE

Congressman RO Khanna Thursday announced that he wants to work with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy’s Department of Government Efficiency to slash waste. Elon Musk reacted to Ro Khanna’s offer and appreciated it. “I’m ready to work with @doge, @elonmusk, +@VivekGRamaswamy to slash waste. I have a track record of doing so. I led the charge to get TransDigm to refund $16 million after investigative reporting exposed price-gouging. Let’s look to the Truman Committee and ensure Americans get their money’s worth with DOD spending,” Ro posted as Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are scheduled to visit Capitol Hill today to meet with Republican lawmakers in both chambers of Congress to discuss ways to reduce waste.
Ro Khanna is not the first Democrat to have shown interest in DOGE. Rep. Jared Moskowitz of Florida joined the DOGEcaucus, which supports DOGE. Vermont independent Sen. Bernie Sanders recently posted on X that “Elon Musk is right.”

Moskowitz said he wants to work on making the Secret Service and FEMA independent federal agencies that report directly to the White House, an idea that has bipartisan support, while Sanders and Khanna want to slash the Pentagon budget, citing failed audits.
DOGE will be the incoming Trump government’s new addition but will not be a part of the government per se. They would work from the outside to advice the administration on ways to cut down on expenditures and will wrap up their work by July 4, 2026.
Though DOGE’s work does not begin before Jan 20, 2025, when Trump administration officially begins, the two entrepreneurs revealed how they are going to work. A number of federal staff who do not report to the office will be fired, high-paying job titles with no actual contribution for the American people will be let go.
Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene will chair a House Oversight subcommittee building the bridge between Congress and DOGE.
