Amazon founder Jeff Bezos‘ fiancee author, pilot Lauren Sanchez opened up about her wedding plan on TODAY though her response was seen as a little weird as she pretended as if she was not expecting a question about her wedding. “So, you asked!” Sanchez replied and the hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb screamed: ‘Of course, we asked’.
“I’m getting to it right now,” Lauren Sanchez said about the wedding planning. “Very excited about it. Thinking about the dress, I have to say. I do have a Pinterest, I’m just like every other bride. So I do have a Pinterest board.”
‘Life is just beginning’
Reflecting on her life, she said when she was 20, she thought her life was over. “I never thought at 54 — I’m going to be 55 (on Dec. 19) — that I’d be an author, that I’d be getting married. Life is just beginning. When I was 20, I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, life is over at 50.”
“Let me tell you: It is not, ladies,” she continued. “It is not over. It is just beginning. It just gets better and better.”
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez have been engaged since May 2023. Bezos was previously married to MacKenzie Scott from 1993 to 2019 and they have four children. Sanchez was earlier married to Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell and has two children with him. Sanchez has another child with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez.
Sanchez is a pilot and is now planning to fly to outer space with a group of women. On the show, Sanchez revealed that all these women on the flight will be explorers.
“And one time, Jeff actually told me that,” Sanchez said. “He goes, ‘You know, you’re an explorer.’ And I was like, ‘What?’ He goes, ‘Yes, you’re a pilot, you like to see the world.’ And I never thought of myself as an explorer. And when he said, ‘OK, why don’t you take an incredible group of women up?’ I was like, ‘I’m picking all explorers.’ And so that they could come back and tell their story about how going to space changes them.”
The wedding will be an extravagant affair with the couple’s A-list friends this Christmas in Aspen, Colorado
