Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is set to host a rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday, nine days before Election Day. Trump, a long-time New York public figure, will hold the event at the iconic venue, known for Knicks basketball games and Billy Joel concerts, as his closing argument against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
What time is the rally?
The rally will begin at 5:00 pm ET for cities like New York City, Washington, DC, Atlanta, Miami, and Boston; 4:00 pm CT in Chicago, Houston, and Dallas; 3:00 pm MT in Denver, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City; 2:00 pm PT in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle; 1:00 pm AKT in Anchorage and Juneau; and 12:00 pm HST in Honolulu. The doors will open to the public at 12 pm ET.
Tickets were available on a first-come, first-served basis through the Trump campaign‘s website, with a maximum of two tickets per phone number.
Trump’s decision to hold a rally in New York reflects his belief in the possibility of winning his home state. The event is expected to garner significant media attention and support Republican candidates running for New York congressional seats. The state has seven key seats that could determine control of the US House of Representatives in the next election.
The rally may also influence northeastern Pennsylvania, a battleground area where many New York commuters live.
Additionally, the rally is set to be one of Trump’s major fundraising events. It offers various donor packages, including VIP suites and backstage passes, as reported by CNN. These exclusive packages are expected to raise substantial funds for Trump’s campaign, with the guest list promising significant earnings.
Key attendees
Elon Musk will be a prominent speaker at the rally supporting Trump’s reelection bid, according to the Trump campaign. Other speakers include Ohio Senator JD Vance, former independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr, house speaker Mike Johnson, former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
The Trump campaign announced that numerous Republican lawmakers, allies, donors, and celebrities are expected to attend, showcasing support for Trump’s reelection efforts and featuring key figures aligned with his campaign.
