Elon Musk has become a ‘mega donor’ to Donald Trump‘s 2024 presidential campaign, contributing around $75 million to the pro-Trump political action committee, America PAC, according to federal disclosures released on Tuesday.
America PAC is focused on mobilising Trump supporters in key battleground states, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.Musk has reportedly spent $72 million in these states during that quarter, more than any other pro-Trump group dedicated to voter outreach.
Musk, who has previously supported Democratic candidates, endorsed Trump in July and even appeared alongside him at a rally in Pennsylvania earlier this month. His shift to the right has boosted the morale of Trump’s campaign, particularly as America PAC focuses on get-out-the-vote initiatives.
Earlier, Musk’s America PAC encouraged people to vote by offering a $47 incentive to registered voters who refer others to sign a petition supporting the First and Second Amendments.

Musk’s donations to America PAC elevate him into the elite circle of Republican mega donors, which includes banking heir Timothy Mellon and casino billionaire Miriam Adelson. During the same period, Adelson contributed $95 million to another pro-Trump group, Preserve America PAC, bolstering Republican fundraising efforts.
The PAC had only $4 million left by the end of September, as stated in the disclosures. Despite all the setbacks, Musk’s donations have made him a critical figure in Trump’s campaign efforts.
Trump has also responded to Musk’s endorsement and has claimed that if elected, he would like Musk to work with him in some capacity. In a conversation with Maria Bartiromo on ‘Sunday Morning Futures,’ Donald Trump had praised Elon Musk as “a great business guy” and “a great cost-cutter,” noting Musk’s confidence in cutting costs without impacting anyone. When asked about Musk joining his Cabinet, Trump clarified that Musk prefers a role focused on cost-cutting, suggesting a new position: “Secretary of Cost-Cutting.”
