Hip-hop star Sean “Diddy” Combs is no longer under intensive monitoring at Brooklyn’s metropolitan detention center, where he faces sexual assault allegations and prostitution charges, according to Fox News Digital.
54-year-old American rapper was recently removed from “suicide watch,” a precautionary measure often applied to high-profile detainees upon admission, regardless of their mental state, as confirmed by a familiar source with situation.
Family members have visited Combs at the detention center, though the specific attendees remain undisclosed. Despite the serious charges, Combs remains focused on his legal defense. A representative for the artist said, “Mr Combs is strong, healthy, and committed to fighting this case. He has full confidence in both his legal team and the truth.”
The Metropolitan detention center in Brooklyn has housed several high-profile inmates, including American singer R Kelly and Ghislaine Maxwell, both of whom were also placed on suicide watch during their time at the facility.
Combs was arrested on September 16 and charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, as well as transportation to engage in prostitution. After the unsealing of his indictment, he entered a not guilty plea. If convicted, he will face a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, with the possibility of life-imprisonment.
Despite two attempts, Diddy has been denied bail, even after offering a $50 million bail proposal that included GPS monitoring and the surrender of his passport.
As part of his defense, Diddy also offered the equity from his $48 million Miami estate. His family including his mother Janice and children Chance, Jessie, D’Lila, and Love Combs, also surrendered their passports under the bail conditions in a bid to prove he is not a flight risk.
