Omar Abdullah: Alliance Needed in Jammu and Pir Panjal to Counter BJP

National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah who was campaigning in Ganderbal constituency where from he is fighting election said, “the need for an alliance with Congress was very important mostly in Jammu and Pir Panjal region to maximize efforts to defeat BJP.” He said i don’t take any election now easy it’s need seriousness; this is what I have learned in recent Lok Sabha defeat. Responding to questions about his evolving stance on electoral participation, Abdullah pointed out the hypocrisy of critics who have accused him of compromising his principles, referring to PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti without naming her. While not contesting herself, she has fielded her daughter Iltija in Bijbihara. “Those who accuse me should reflect on their own choices,” he remarked. Abdullah also expressed concern over the current strength of the assembly, stating, “The present assembly is not as powerful as it used to be, but it can be strengthened through these elections.” Regarding bail of jailed MP whose party have decided to fight elections in Jammu Kashmir Engineer Rasheed’s bail hearing, Abdullah clarified that such decisions are made by the court and are not influenced by electoral outcomes. “Let’s wait to see under what conditions Engineer Rashid will be allowed to walk out if bail is granted,” he noted. Once know baston of National Confidence Ganderbal Omar is fighting against PDP candidate Bashir Ahmad Mir in Ganderbal, Abdullah reiterated, “No election is easy. Contesting the polls is always challenging.”
