The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah claimed responsibility for a drone attack targeting military posts in the northern Israeli kibbutz of Amiad, situated roughly 22 kilometres (14 miles) from the border with Lebanon.
The group released a statement on Wednesday detailing the operation, while Israel‘s military has not yet confirmed the incident.
According to Hezbollah, the assault was carried out in response to an Israeli attack on Lebanon’s Bekaa region the previous night.
The ongoing tensions between Hezbollah and the Israeli military have persisted for the past 10 months, coinciding with the conflict in Gaza between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas. The hostilities have expanded to multiple fronts, raising concerns about the possibility of a full-scale conflict engulfing the Middle East.
