Andrew Tate‘s house in Romania was raided by the police on Wednesday after allegations regarding trafficking of minors emerged against him.
Romania’s anti-organized crime agency, DIICOT, announced that it was conducting searches at four homes in Bucharest and the nearby Ilfov county.
Talking about the raids, Tate’s spokesperson Mateea Petrescu said that “although the charges in the search warrant are not yet fully clarified, they include suspicions of human trafficking and money laundering.”
“During the entire criminal process, the investigated persons benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as the presumption of innocence,” DIICOT said in its statement.
The investigations focused on allegations of human trafficking, trafficking minors, sexual relations with a minor, tampering with statements, and money laundering.
The agency also said that hearings will be held at its headquarters later.
The 37-year-old and his brother Tristan, 36, both former kickboxers with millions of social media followers, were arrested in 2022 near Bucharest along with two Romanian women. Romanian prosecutors formally indicted all four last year, though they have denied the charges.
