DHAKA: The Minority Rights Movement, a platform of minority communities in Bangladesh, has demanded the formation of a “minority commission” to investigate attacks on Hindu houses and places of worship across that country.
A six-member delegation met interim government chief adviser Prof Yunus on Sunday and presented eight demands, including prosecution of people for attacks on properties of minority communities and the ensuring protection of their communities.
Yunus assured them that his government is committed to protecting the human rights of every citizen, including members of religious minorities, the press wing of the chief adviser said.
