The devoted Swifties secured complimentary seats on the Olympic Hill, also known as Olympiaberg, one of the highest points in the city, for two consecutive days on Saturday and Sunday. This vantage point provided them with an elevated view of the singer’s sold-out concert at the nearby Olympic Stadium.
Despite the scorching heat, which reached a high of 31 Celsius (88 Fahrenheit), Swifties claimed their spots hours before the concert commenced. Police estimated that approximately 25,000 individuals assembled on the hill that day, as reported by the dpa news agency.
The following day, fans returned to the grassy hill, packing it with such a large number of people that from a distance, the scene resembled an anthill.
Instead of discouraging the free viewings, the concert organiser distributed water and emergency blankets to those waiting, helping them protect themselves from the sun, according to dpa.
The Eras Tour took to X to share a photo of Taylor’s fans who swarmed the hill to watch her concert. In another post, The Eras Tour said, “We are lucky enough to get to play this show for 74,000 beautiful people in this stadium and if the reports are correct 50,000 beautiful people outside the stadium!”
Photos and videos of the hill have been circulating on social media. One user commented, “We can see that clearly… That’s the power of Taylor Swift.” Another user wrote, “TAYLOR SWIFT IS THE MUSIC INDUSTRY.”
The Sunday concert marked Swift’s final performance in Germany as part of her “Eras” tour. Her next destination is the Polish capital, Warsaw, where she is scheduled to hold three concerts in the coming week, from Thursday through Saturday.
