In a significant escalation of violence, Israeli aircraft conducted a series of airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon overnight, following a deadly rocket attack that claimed the lives of 12 people, including children, at a soccer pitch. The Israeli military confirmed the strikes on Sunday, highlighting a rapid and forceful response to the lethal assault.
The Israeli Air Force (IAF) targeted multiple locations deep inside Lebanese territory and in southern Lebanon, hitting what it described as Hezbollah terror targets.The strikes focused on areas known for harboring weapons caches and terrorist infrastructure, including Chabriha, Borj El Chmali, Beqaa, Kfarkela, Rab El Thalathine, Khiam, and Tayr Harfa.
“Overnight, the IAF struck a series of Hezbollah terror targets both deep inside Lebanese territory and in southern Lebanon, including weapons caches and terrorist infrastructure in the areas of Chabriha, Borj El Chmali, and Beqaa, Kfarkela, Rab El Thalathine, Khiam, and Tayr Harfa,” the Israeli military stated.
The rocket attack on the soccer pitch, attributed to Hezbollah by Israeli authorities, has sparked outrage and condemnation. The tragic incident occurred during a local match, leaving the community in mourning and raising fears of further escalation in the region.
