A tragic incident occurred near the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport in Ohio on Friday evening when a twin-engine Beechcraft 60 aircraft crashed while attempting to make an emergency landing. The Federal Aviation Administration reported that the crash took place at approximately 6.45 pm, according to ABC News.
According to the Ohio state highway patrol post in Trumbull County, which received notification of the incident shortly after 7 pm on Saturday, three individuals on board the plane, including the pilot and two passengers, lost their lives in the crash.
The families of the victims have been informed, and their names will be disclosed at a later time, as said by an official.
“The crash came after an airplane not associated with the air reserve station at the airport came in for an unscheduled emergency landing,” Anthony Trevena, executive director of the Western Reserve Port Authority, told WKBN-TV.
The station also reported that a mechanical failure is believed to be the cause of the crash.
The National Transportation Safety Board will be conducting an investigation into the incident, as said by the FAA in a statement.
