NEW DELHI: An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 hit Indonesia‘s Java island on Friday, with its epicenter 132 km north of Tuban in East Java province, Indonesia’s geophysics agency (BKMG) said.
Having a depth of 10 km, the tremors were strongly felt in East Java and its capital Surabaya.
According to the BMKG, the earthquake has no potential to cause a tsunami.
No causalities have been reported so far.
