NEW DELHI: Retired aerospace engineer Richard Godfrey claims he has located the missing Malaysian Airlines aircraft MH370 using innovative radio technology. However, he alleges that authorities have shown little interest in finding the jet. Richard, who has worked with NASA, Boeing, and Airbus, is among a group of dedicated experts who have been tirelessly searching for the wreckage for the past ten years. He believes that it will only take one more search to locate the aircraft and is confident in his findings.
8 March, 2024 marks the tenth anniversary of the disappearance of the Boeing 777, which was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 passengers and crew onboard.
Richard suspects that the Malaysian authorities may not want to find the wreckage because it would mean they would have to compensate the families of the victims. He agrees with fellow aviation expert Geoffrey Thomas, who believes that the Malaysians want the MH370 incident to be forgotten. Richard also mentions an interview he conducted with an expert who stated that the Malaysian government has a vested interest in not finding the plane, as any determination that the crash was deliberate would result in significant compensation costs.
Recently, Malaysian Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook announced the possibility of a new search. However, Richard believes that this may be a token gesture to appease the relatives of the victims. He has meticulously analyzed over 130 disturbances to the radio signal on the night MH370 disappeared and is confident that they indicate the final flight path of the aircraft. These disturbances end just outside the area that has been searched underwater so far.
Authorities are considering revisiting an area that has already been searched. Richard finds this strange and suggests expanding the search area to include the University of Western Australia drift analysis defined crash location and the WSPR defined crash location. Based on his own data, Richard has narrowed down the search to a 30km radius. If the new search is unsuccessful, he hopes that the search will expand further northeast to cover the WSPR crash location.
Richard concludes by stating that it seems that the Malaysian government is attempting to appease the families of the MH370 victims by conducting a new search, even though they know it will not yield results and will not expose them to compensation claims. The search for MH370 continues, with Richard and his team of experts determined to bring closure to the families of the victims.
