NEW DELHI: Three terrorists were killed and four injured during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa‘s Karak district, the army said.
The forces seized weaponry, ammunition, and explosive materials from the terrorists, according to the statement.
“Sanitization operations is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area,” the ISPR said.
This comes amidst reported death of one the most wanted Pakistan-based terrorist commanders, Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman, under mysterious circumstances.
He was involved in multiple terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and worked in close coordination with Pak intelligence agency ISI, said an official.
In recent months, several top terrorists have been killed or found dead under mysterious circumstances in Pakistan.
According to reports, last week, security forces killed six militants in another IBO in KP’s North Waziristan province.
Pakistan has seen an increase in terror strikes, with at least 93 militant attacks in the country in January of this year, killing 90 people and injuring 135 others, The News International reported.
