BOYNEXTDOOR sat down with Billboard ahead of their Lollapalooza debut, and the boys shared how they prepared for the big weekend, why they named their album ‘No Genre,’ they gave insight into the kind of music they hope to create and more!

Tetris Kelly: I’m hanging out with BOYNEXTDOOR at Lollapalooza. What’s up, fellas? So what’s crazy to me is this is only your second U.S. performance, and the first one was KCON last year, and I was there too, so I’m like, it’s been a year, fellas. What’s been going on?

Woonhak: Our destiny. Yeah, BOYNEXTDOOR & Tetris.

Taesan: Thank you for inviting us, and our first time in Chicago. So we gotta do it, we’ll do our best tomorrow.

Now, what are you guys prepared for Lollapalooza when you’re thinking about going out on such a big stage?

Jaehyun: Yes, so we prepared our new band arrangements, all the songs, and BOYNEXTDOORs like passionate energy. And we’re also looking forward to our fans and Lollapalooza’s fans’ energy. So it’s gonna be a whole different stage.

Now, when you were preparing with the band and everything, out of the six of you, who do you think is the most nervous to go to Lollapalooza right now?

Taesan: Oh we don’t get nervous.

    None?

    Jaehyun: Never.

    Woonhak: Really?

    Taesan: Yeah. Are you nervous?

    He said, ‘Really?’

Woonhak: Yeah, honestly, I’m nervous! [in Korean] I’m a coward!

And then also you were saying that you were excited to see A$AP Rocky come down in the helicopter at Rolling Loud. So is there anybody at this festival you guys want to see?

    Keep watching for more!
